If any of y'all have read my bio, you'd see that I currently serve on my chapters executive board. My first term on e-board, I served as the Membership Recruitment Chair. Now that I'm a senior, I wanted to continue on e-board but I also wanted to have a more relaxed position, thus making me Scribune (a combination of Scribe and Tribune), so ultimately, I'm the secretary for my chapter.
On the first of every month, people have things to fulfill so we can get our chapter excellence (CE) points. Some months just officers and chairs have information to turn in, other times, all sisters in the chapter have information to fill out and this is where it tends to get messy.
It's during these times that I get the most stressed out. I have a CE monitor and can see who has done what within the chapter, or lack thereof. Last semester, it was an absolute nightmare trying to get some of my sisters to fulfill their duties, ultimately causing us to lose chapter excellence points from our headquarters. This semester, we've done SO much better but it's still stressful when your position relies on so many others to get things done.
For those reading who have a sister that pesters you to get things turned in on time, we do it because we want the best for our chapter. In my case, I want to help to shape my chapter so that it can prosper long after I graduate. I know that there have been Scribe's/Scribune's before me that have tried to get their chapters to do well and there have even been those who have held this position before me that have gotten us to get a bronze and silver award from our Headquarters.
If you're reading this, remember that we pester you because we care about our positions and our chapter and want our chapters and sisters to succeed.
